For mini games only and have you ever heard of a “penalty” that’s implemented for quitter during play? It’s been done before so why complain about quitters when it’s them who’s gonna lose more?
In a game where online would significantly improve the experience and be a fun mechanic then yes, every game like THAT should have online. Honestly if you don’t like online features just turn them off, most games have that option.

This is how you do it. “In my opinion, this is not a game that needs online, even though I see so many people here asking for it so there is obviously desire for it” You see, you do not go telling people that want it, that they don’t want it, because they obviously do.

The problem I see in online for MP is that the sessions would be pretty long. 30+ minutes for each session is a lot especially since most online sessions are under 5 minutes. I could imagine people leaving if they got bored with the game, got busy, or if things didn’t go their way. Lag in mini games could cost you the entire game as well, and lag overall can slow the game down even more. I would much rather have Mario Party amiibos that function like the Smash Bros amiibos and get harder and smarter as you level them up, or simply be able to put the MP characters on brutal or beyond. Maybe if there was a short board specific to online, or if all the mini game modes had an online component as well it could work. MP isn’t really a game suited for online IMO. It’s a game you play with friends and family close by to see their reactions and just cause fun havoc. Or if you’re like me you play it single player to just crush the CPUs and enjoy your favorite mini games.

… I’m sorry but… do I really need to use both the Wii mote to play the Amiibo mode and have the GamePad on standby for the Amiibo to save its dice? That just seems really inconvenient if you ask me.
I hope we can use the GamePad as the wiimote instead. Highly unlikely because it seems motion controls requiring to shake the wiimote are present (dice roll+minigames) but I certainly hope they can be replaced by simple buttons for traditional play. I just know I will be needing both the Wiimote and GamePad for just one mode. I’m not happy with that.
This game honestly doesn’t look that bad. You guys are chirping it like it just killed your parents.. Online mode would be horrendous, mini games would lag so you can’t really play like you would want to. And online party mode would be brutal because in a 30 minute game of mario party ya think one person won’t rage quit or lose connection? I’m not trying to be mean or anything to you guys but ya gotta think before ya say things.
But the only thing I can’t defend is the characters stuck in a kart together. That’s the only bad thing really
