The first half of this year for the Wii U in PAL regions has been an absolute disgrace. I thought paying for online was bad but having no games for half a year is up there as well.

I dig anime (mostly the darker/serious stuff)- but some things can just get a little TOO anime. Much like western shows or video games, certain faces and voices can just be distracting to certain people. At least the anime tropes aren’t completely over the top.
With a scale that big, you are basically never gonna see those faces anyway.
If you’re referring to the face of the default male character, I agree that he sorta little odd. But (thankfully), there’s character customization, and it actually seems to offer a wide variety of options to choose from. There are videos about it, you should check them out if you haven’t seen them yet. :)

You’re looking at 300-plus hours of gameplay, noob. Xenoblade Chronicles X will have a storyline with every twist and turn during and after battle scenes. Experience and survival are keys in playing this game.

This game is looking incredible. I only hope that the European release isn’t too far behind the Japanese release. I’ll need all the time I can get between this and Zelda.
I’m sure the graphics will look crisper in 1080/60fps HD. The gameplay and exploration look epic. I will get lost in the Xenoblade X world and totally fucking love it.

English borrows from numerous languages, including Japanese (umami, katana, shinobi, etc.) French (café, résumé, etc.), German (dopplegänger, kindergarten, etc.), Italian (pizza, pasta, pepperoni etc.), Spanish (matador, luchador, etc.) and I’m sure dozens of others.

I think he means why are most the words in Japanese characters but then some are in English using the alphabet. Also, I’m pretty sure Japanese has a word for weapon… So your analogy doesn’t work. English only has one word for pizza, kindergarten, katana, etc. It doesn’t arbitrarily take words from different languages when it already has the word.

Looks kinda bad to be honest. The enemy AI stays still many times when you attack, and just the combat in general just doesn’t seem very good to me. I was considering picking this up, but I guess I’ll pass. I don’t like the characters either. I guess JRPGs just aren’t for me.
I’m pretty sure that not all the enemies have a cool down time that last that long, but if you didn’t like this battle system don’t give up on JRPG’s, some of them have amazing battle systems Like Bravely Default, or even action based like the ‘Tales of’ series.

yeah I totally agree. I guess if you are super into games like this it’s understandable why people are so excited. But I am def not one of them. This looks boring as hell. The environment looks pretty decent but monsters and people look very Wii ish. If I hear another fanboy shout how amazing this looks I will scream. It looks barely current gen. I haven’t put much effort into getting into rpg but I did try Fire Emblem Awakening and that seemed good as does BD and Code Steam. Anything other suggestions?
Well this game is really big. Most popular games these days are really short and thus have little content. It’s easier to make games look neat when there isn’t much to work on.
