Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker Trailer Demonstrates amiibo Functionality

Nintendo has unveiled a new trailer for Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker to demonstrate amiibo functionality with the Wii U puzzle title. A new update was released on March 20th that added amiibo support to the Wii U game. Tapping the Toad amiibo on the Wii U GamePad makes Pixel Toad appear in a stage, waiting to be found by the player.

  1. Is there any point to actually finding the pixel toad? Like is it a goal or just something you find and say “Oh hey its there”

  2. Up till now there really isn’t a solid reason to get amiibo, save for eye candy and collecting purposes

    1. These will be continually restocked. If you can find diddy kong you will be able to find toad. He is not discontinued so scalpers are just barking up the wrong tree for now.

  3. Why not just buy a where’s waldo book? Way cheaper, and you get the same results. I wonder how many people at Nintendo actually thougth this was a good idea.

  4. I got all of the Super Mario series amiibos. But I want 2 Toads. So if I ever find any more, I’ll buy one so I can open it.

  5. £8 just to find pixel Toad. Not worth it. This is like DLC that actually takes up space in your home rather than on your HDD.
