To ramp up their advertising efforts, Nintendo UK has announced that it has hired a new firm to help out with PR. The company is called PrettyGreen and has worked for a number of high-profile clients including Nando’s, Virgin Media and John Lewis. The first title that the firm will be promoting is the super colourful Splatoon which launches in May. Here’s what Nintendo UK had to say about the announcement.
“We’re excited to be welcoming the PrettyGreen team into the Nintendo family,” Nintendo’s head of communications Jo Bartlett said. “They’ve shown themselves to be creative and strategic in their thinking and we’re looking forward to working with them to deliver some fantastic campaigns for both Wii U and Nintendo 3DS in the months to come.”

If I include games that aren’t out yet, then there is also Splatoon, Devil’s Third, Zelda U, Project Treasure, Shin Megami Tensei/Fire Emblem, Star Fox U and XENOBLADE CHRONICLES X.
And those aren’t all the exclusives, just the most high-profile ones. I’m counting 21.

They missed multiple sales opportunities because of their weak marketing so I’d say no, their games are the least of their problems. Games are coming out for Nintendo systems, but people can’t decide on whether they want a Wii for U or a Brand New New 3DS.

lol The Order: 1886 is as closest as an interactive movie as a video game can get. When the cutscenes take up more of the game than the actual game play, it hardly deserves to be called a video game. But since it was labeled as a game by the makers, I’ll barely, just barely, give you that one.

Same can be said about the ps4 and xb1. They are selling pretty good it seems, so no, games aren’t their biggest problem. It hasn’t been since 2014.
Unlike the WiiU, both the XB1 and PS4 are getting games nearly every month. With Nintendo, we have to wait several months until the next game comes up after a release. So yes, games are a problem indeed.
And what are the chances that you’re gonna buy every last one every time that it’s out? It’s unrealistic and stupid to even worry about it. Enjoy what you got until the next big thing comes.

I just wanted to say that I’m not buying any less or any more games than I ever have from Nintendo unless you include indies which I’m buying more and always on Wii U. I like these droughts. I think I always have really. I’ve played games a lot and sometimes I just don’t have time. I’d rather spend time on just a few good games when I can. On Wii U the last game I bought was Smash. Next could be Splatoon, and then Xenoblade X. Still haven’t finished Xenoblade Chronicles…

You can’t just mix the release dates of two different regions in one list. Nintendo’s consoles are region locked, so Americans don’t care about the European releases, just like the Europeans don’t care about the American releases. I live in Europe, and the fact that the Kirby game came out last month in America doesn’t change anything about me not being able to buy it until May, does it?
And you’re damn right, I will bring up the “indie excuse”, because I honestly don’t count them as “full-fledged” games. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve played some absolutely great indie games before, and I definitely don’t mean to say indie developers don’t put enough work in them or anything like that, not at all, but yea, I just think it’s silly to count them in when looking at upcoming releases for a console. And if we truly did count them in, the “Indiestation 4” would have a new release every, I don’t know, two weeks?
I personally only count in full prized games on a release list, which would eliminate Mario vs Donkey Kong, Affordable Space Adventures, Swords and Soldiers and Runbow from your list. And you also mentioned DLC, like, really? How do they count as new games?
So are we just pretending that indie games don’t count? Okay.
And look at PS4/One. Most I see are fucking last gen ports, all I hear from third parties are excuses of why their games are not pushing limits and also most of their games are nothing but broken ass lies on a disc. *cough* Destiny!
