So we all know we’re getting some pretty cool amiibo figures for Splatoon, but what exactly do they do? Well, we have a couple of clips that give you a sneak peek. There’s an empty amiibo box sitting in the corner of Inkopolis, your Splatoon plaza, and if you scan your amiibo then they’ll pop up in the game. With each amiibo figure– either the Inkling Girl, Inkling Boy or the Squid– will come 20 challenges, where you can put your splatting skills to the test to unlock all sorts of gold, gear and weapons. Some accessories are amiibo exclusive.
The video above gives you insight into what those challenges might be like, and the video below shows you just how it looks when you scan your amiibo into the amiibo box. Splatoon amiibo are released on the same day as the game, on May 29th. If you want to get the most out of your inky experience, then you’ll have to do your best to grab hold of them!
This has been the only gameplay video to actually make me want to buy it. I’m waiting on seeing more single player content before I decide.
You should totally get it dude, the single player content is actually pretty deep. GameXplain put up lots of videos on the single player levels. Also the gameplay vids make it look a lot easier than it really is, they have played the levels before and know what to do.
So if you get all 3 do you get 60 new challenges?
