Take A Look At The New Mighty No. 9 Trailer

The spiritual successor for Mega Man, Mighty No. 9, is finally coming to Wii U this September 15th, and you can now take a look at it in the trailer above. There are also a number of pre-order bonuses and special edition games but they only seem to be available for the PlayStation 4. Although, if you pre-order you will receive a ‘Retro Hero DLC’ where you can play as a retro-style Beck and challenge yourself with an insta-death mode. Take a look at the trailer and see what you think!

          1. I’m amaze, you know the whole song since you seem to be a fanboy and all. Guess you can’t judge, a name by it’s name. & i don’t blame you it’s a very nice song.

  1. “Retro Hero DLC”
Gotta hand it to them, I don’t think I’ve ever been so turned off by preorder bonuses this quickly before.

    1. he’s right we gotta build up are library on ps4 and the one guys. Real talk, they came out latter they do need there attention & time lol

  2. Still iffy on this game. Mega Man is my favorite game series, but.. this just looks rather generic.

I know it’s from the “father” of mega man, but it still looks more of a ripoff than anything. Should’ve been a little more creative with the character designs.

Gonna buy it anyway though. Just not sure for what system.. Nintendo has a bad track record with getting the worst version of multiconsole games. But playing this with an Xbone controller sounds awful… Gah.

    1. There’s nothing really wrong with the Xbone controller imo. I prefer the Dualshock 4 but the One’s gamepad is fine to me.

      1. Are you kidding? Playstation has the WORST controller EVER!! I prefer the gamepad or the XBONE controller WAY more, I like the gamepad cause it has a touch screen, I like the XBONE controller cause it has more triggers and rumbles. The PS controllers don’t fit anyone’s hands and they’re tiny and weird. You can like what you want though, that’s just my preference.

        1. The Dpad on the PS controllers are a perfect win for retro gaming. The thing that gets me tripped up on the Wii/DS/Xbox controllers is they all flip around their ABXY buttons. So going from console to console, buttons are flipped and hard to “Press A” at a moments notice. It takes a moment to register “This is Wii, A is over there”. Plus the PS controllers rumble. Their batteries just suck. PS controllers are great for pairing up to my Android tablets, Amazon Fire TV stick, and Ouya… Something xbox controllers can’t do.

          1. Um about the rumble thing, even the Wii remotes rumble, along with all their other controllers, and Microsofts, so…you were saying?

        2. The Playstation controllers are not tiny anymore. You obviously don’t own a Ps4, because the new dual shock is much bigger than the older models. The Ps4 controller is as good as it gets…

I agree with you if you were talking about the PS3 controllers…

      2. I just don’t like it for platforming games. The controller is very much built for FPS games. Works great for that, but not much else. I actually prefer the 360 pad to the Xbone version. Just felt more comfortable.

The triggers feel goofy on the Xbone pad. Still, it’s not as bad as an N64 controller..

        1. I prefer the accuracy of mouse for FPS games. I’m not talking about those cheap crappy wireless mouse you can pick one up at Office Depot for $15. You need to spend big and buy wired gaming mouse for the real experience.

    2. Oh dude, its a complete rip off of Mega Man. But hell, Sega doesn’t seem to mind or care about Mega Man any more. Gotta keep the ghost alive.

        1. You would be hoping wrong, only troll people who pretend to be computers and articles that don’t relate to Nintendo.

            1. All I see here is tears from a clown CCC, we’re not even on the same level anymore. Your consistency in failing is primo bro, take your HP Dv6000 back to the scrap pile.

            2. “Exposed for life” as the chump that busted a subhuman computer months ago and is still getting butthurt replies from it. Boom roasted on both party’s. Eat it.

    3. The only thing I dont like about the XBO controller is those damn shoulder buttons, I hate having to press them right on the edge or else they dont respond. Oh and the whole battery deal but thats an easy fix, not ideal but it fixable.

      1. Well it is technically an “indie” game. If it was build with a bigger company it would have looked better. It is our first taste of a “next gen Mega Man” game

  3. I still don’t get why they decided to make it 2.5D. I know spritework is more expensive than 3D modeling, but… Just look at Steamworld Dig or similar 2D HD games. The result is FAR better than this. The gameplay looks solid, at least.
I’m a Mega Man fan, so I’ll probably give it a chance when it gets a discount.

    1. This is what scares me about Bloodstained. The concept art for Mighty No.9 looked so good, there was no reason so switch to 3D models in my opinion, especially if it would be in the final game. As the Bloodstained kickstarter said they’ll also do 2.5D, I can’t help but feel the 3D models will look subpar or look inferior to the concept artwork just like Mighty No.9.

      1. Agreed. I love the concept behind that game as well, but I can’t help but feel that Iga is going to mess up something down the line. Big egos tend not to listen to constructive criticism.

    2. Inafune wanted to go back to the nostalgic days of Mega Man games something Capcom doesn’t want to do. Because his company is growing this is mostly an indie game but probably our only taste of a next gen Mega Man game

  4. I think it looks great, and will be a day one buy. I’m not preordering because I refuse to support these dlc preorder practices. That is something that needs to die already.

But honestly, while this game is a step in the right direction to making a true Mega Man spiritual sequel, it still falls short. I hope the sequel uses the power of these new consoles to their max. Could you guys imagine a Mighty Number Nine game with “next gen” quality graphics? A leveling system, experience and stats, and maybe even a skill tree. That’s my dream Mega Man game…. Capcom is sitting on a gold mine they refuse to mine…

Anyways, I still love this game and can’t wait to get my hands on it…

  5. A multi-million production and there isn’t even a basic mouth animation.
Anyone who contributed to this got duped so hard.

    1. I suggest you do some research on how much game development actually costs. Why would people care about mouth movement when the camera is always zoomed out and to the side?

      1. Same thing happens to me all the time. I feel your pain. It’s just weird, cause my brain swears I wrote it, but apparently my hands skipped a beat.

    1. Haters gonna hate. Most gamers on the web are entitled basement dwellers with nothing better to do than complain about a game they never played.

  6. I’ll most likely buy this when it releases. The only thing about it that bothers me is that it looks more like Mega Man X. Which I’m not a fan of.
