The Pokemon Company has released a Japanese overview trailer for the latest in the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series which is titled Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon. Those of us in the west will have to wait until later this year to get our hands on the game, while those in Japan will be able to purchase it on September 17th for the Nintendo 3DS. It is clearly going to be a long wait.

Doesn’t look very good…I’m starting to think that we might not ever get a new Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game that’s as good as Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky.
I honestly think X and Y and gates to infinity were tests for Super Mystery Dungeon and ORAS. In ORAS, graphics were improved and game play was expanded. It will more than likely be the case here. I’m excited for this game.

This installment is really starting to resemble that of it’s past wonderful installments, from the pokemon personality test (although I actually was annoyed by it trying to get a certain Pokemon), full town, choosing dungeons via a large map, the large number of pokemon as partners, and the extensive amount of pokemon overall. All the legendries are really cool too. Although I understood nothing of the video, the story seems developed as well. My only gripe will be if they limit you to only taking one quest at a time, but other than that I’m really looking forward to re-experiencing the thrill that I felt with Explorers of Sky. (hopefully!)
