Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night Becomes Most Funded Video Game Ever On Kickstarter

Launching on Kickstarter a month ago, the Castlevania-style game from Koji Igarashi, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has claimed the title of the most funded video game on Kickstarter. At $4.2 million, it takes the title from Torment: Tides of Numenera, which raised just over $4.1 million a few years ago. Deep into the castle dungeon, the next stretch goals for the project are $4.5 million and above, for prequel mini-games on PC/consoles and portable consoles. I wonder how far the funding will go?

    1. Yooka-Laylee has only raised about $2.8 million, although it has more backers than Bloodstained (62,000 compared to 50,000). The reason for this discrepancy is likely due to Bloodstain’s tiers generally costing more than Yooka-Laylee’s, especially the lowest three tiers, where more than 50% of the backers for each project pledged.

By the way I backed both projects and am really excited for both of them!

      1. U say backers but they r not really backers. Its free money for a company. If u invest in a company u expect a return but w kickstater u dont invest u dont get profits. They keep it all for themselves and then same peolle who gave them money has to go out and buy the game.

U usually get something stupid that cost nothing.

Basically its free money and now they can build a game kn someone else dime and still get 100% of the profits.

Great waste of money for the stupid people that send money

I invested my money in Bloodstained Ritual of the Night, so now I expect to be given the physical Wii U version of the game.

Pretty simple. Nothing stupid about it. I made sure to invest in a reliable source. I am 100% sure this game will end up at my door step. If I invested in a riskier title, well, then that gamble is on me and if I don’t ever get the game or it turns out being crap, then that’s my fault for trusting the developers.

          1. I put my full faith in the hands of these developers. Castlevania ds games were among the best games i ever played. They had me hooked. If they even play anything like those then its a worthy investment. I trust them to handle the gameplay like a good dad would raise their child.
