DeNA West CEO Shintaro Asako recently had the chance to speak at the Pocket Gamer Connects San Francisco 2015. During the event, Asako explained why he believes Nintendo and DeNA titles will succeed in Japan, China and the west. He believes that it is simply because Nintendo has the best IP available and that makes them the perfect fit for the smartphone market. As you would expect, Shintaro Asako seemed extremely confident about the deal.
“The Nintendo deal is a huge, huge deal,” he said, adding, “Nintendo has the best IP, and IP that’s perfect matched to smartphones”.
“It took us 5 or 6 years to convince them,” Asako revealed.
“We wanted to convince them to release games on Mobage [DeNA’s browser platform]. They didn’t like it. Five years later, the industry has changed. The market has changed.
“I think our games might change the way people play mobile games,”
“Successful mobile games needs to be discoverable,” Asako pointed out.
“I’m convinced there will be hundreds of millions of people who will want to play free-to-start Nintendo games.”

I’ve dropped my iPhone several times, though it’s usually only twice a year at most. The most damage I’ve ever gotten is on my case (I get mine from RedBubble) and a few scratches that are only noticeable when the phone is off.
Androids are better than iPhones, that I agree. I prefer the iPhone for the sake of convenience and simplicity. Just, I think one of the only reasons why iPhones seem like they break easily is because there are so many teenagers out there who don’t value what they have and just slam their phone onto the floor and complain it broke on its own.

No it took 5 years of badgering and investors pestering Iwata to get to mobile. Iwata once said in 2011 if Nintendo put games on mobile they would cease to be Nintendo. We all saw Iwata’s health deteriorate and we know that bile duct growths can be caused by stress. So in a way it was the stupid mobile shit that ended up killing Iwata. As for this whole hundreds of billions wanting to play free to start Nintendo games on mobile…your a fucking delusional ape lol. Cause in 5 years or so the whole mobile gaming fad will end and casuals will move to the next fad which is VR. Mobile is such a temporary and shaky platform to do business on. Mobile isn’t a fad. The reason mobile gaming is doing so well is because almost everyone in developed countries own a smart phone. Not everyone cares about gaming enough to get VR.
