More than 21 million units of amiibo have shipped globally since their launch, which was under a year ago. The milestone was revealed during Nintendo’s Corporate Management Policy Briefing, during which the company also announced that newly-released amiibo – such as Yarn Yoshi and Animal Crossing amiibo cards – are selling well. Nintendo plans to continue introducing new additions to its amiibo lineup in the future. Meanwhile, the first series of Animal Crossing amiibo figures will arrive in Europe, Japan and the U.S. by the end of November.
Nintendo Has Shipped More Than 21 Million amiibo Worldwide

that must be a great profit for them
And I still can’t find a fucking dark pit or pit amiibo.
You should have said that 2 weeks ago- Best Buy got a massive restock of Dark Pit, as well as Little Mac, Greninja, Shulk…
Strange, I recently got those Amiibo (including Dark Pit) at Best Buy last week. Just got around 8 more Amiibo to complete my Smash series collection.
Got Dark Pit yesterday as well as a 25th anniversary Mario Amiibo at Best Buy. They also had Shulk, ZSS, Greninja, Little Mac, Toad, and Captain Falcon.
And still I can’t get a damn one that I want.
They could have made at least double that if it weren’t for the scalpers (probably Nintendo cash grab tax free)
If there weren’t scalpers they would have sold less than 21 million guaranteed. Scalpers are sitting on crates of unused, brand-new amiibo, ready to be sold for exorbitant prices, likely more than would actually be purchased by people who want to buy them in the stores they came from. Scalpers in a way help with Nintendo’s sales. I’m not defending them in any way here, they’re still scumbags, but when it comes down to it, they’re still responsible for moving a major chunk of that 21 million, whether we like it or not.
Except those scalpers bought them at MSRP first and then just resold them at double, triple, quadruple the price. So Nintendo still got the money from them.
>>>Someone said quadruple?>>>
Whilst I did, I didn’t mean to summon you, O Commander.
Though tell me- would you be willing to pay four times the price for an amiibo you wanted or would you wait for a restock?
>>>Restock of course, but since I don’t like Amiibos I don’t really bother personally>>>
EXPOSED!! YOU SAID “PERSONALLY”!
>:D
>>>Yes? I’m not a mindless cyborg?>>>
Silencehuman!
>>>I’m an aware cyborg, not a useless ape>>>

They best not forget about restocking their older figures from the Smash line. I have yet to get Robin, Lucina, and Wii Fit, let alone see any of them in their packaging.
Call me when they release a female Robin amiibo.
that will be pretty awesome

Does anybody else have that amiibo flagpole display? I ordered mine on eBay. Then I saw the same ones at Gamestop. I don’t have enough (opened) amiibo to fill it up yet though. I have a special wall shelf where I display my opened amiibo. Which used to be a coat rack, but I modified it and added a secend shelf. It’s already near filled with amiibo.
second*
And only manage to sell half of this numbers. How quant.
Considering that the majority of these most likely are Marios, Links, Pikachus and other commons, that’s not really suprising.
Apparently it’s the only Amiibos they can find.
which is pretty lame :/
