After a long time waiting we’ve finally heard today that there’s a sequel to Retro City Rampage on its way to a number of platforms. Shakedown Hawaii, the game from Vblank Entertainment, was officially announced on the PlayStation Blog but will be coming to the Nintendo 3DS. If you’re interested the game will be playable at this year’s PlayStation Experience on December 5-6th. Be sure to check out the Shakedown Hawaii video, above.
Shakedown Hawaii brings the Vblank open world universe into the 16-bit era, powered up with destructible environments and an arsenal of supercharged weapons. Taking place some thirty years after the events of Retro City Rampage, the game follows The Player as he comes out of early retirement to rebuild his neglected corporate empire.

Take it! Take all of my money!
I’m throwing money at the screen! Oh man!!!!! This is awesome news!!!!!
I’m getting this game mixed up with the game that features kaiju as the playable characters & destroying cities across the planet. Ugh! I can’t remember it’s name!
That would be Rampage. Loved that game as a kid. You could be a gorilla, lizard, or wolf thing.
I’m guessing they’re going for a San Andreas-esc feel to their game after this one
