IGN has listed the games that they personally feel are the best of 2015 and the results aren’t too bad. There’s one Nintendo game listed for Game of the Year 2015 and that is the ultra-creative Super Mario Maker. I would have thought they would have had Splatoon up there, but oh well. Anyway, here’s the nominations for the best games of 2015. What do you think?

Xenoblade is a fucking masterpiece and the fact they ported it to the New 3DS should earn it some god damn respect around here.
Not some franchise that’s dethroning Pokemon as the main monster series. Even Digimon knows there boundaries, and yet they accept the fact.

To be fair, Majora’s Mask 3D is up there and that is a remake.

I have to agree with this. Majora’s Mask 3D at least did some things to change it up a bit. Xenoblade Chronicles was nothing more than a direct port that didn’t even fix some of the balancing issues of the original game. I would have at least liked a better New Game Plus similar to Bravely Default’s, though. But nope. Nothing. The collection thing was cool but not really worthy of putting it on par with Majora’s Mask 3D.
Majora’s Mask 3D is also a game that is much older, so porting it to a newer system makes a lot of sense given the demand. I love Xenoblade but 3D feels as though it was made for no other reason than to push the New 3DS, especially since they could’ve just released Xenoblade on the WiiU digitally everywhere and not just in the UK.
In my opinion, Yoshi’s Wooly World deserves Wii U GOTY. It’s the first Nintendo game I bought in quite a while that didn’t stir up a lot of complaints out of me. And I actually enjoyed playing (still am).
Either that or Xenoblade X

Personally hoping Splatoon wins best Nintendo game. A great multiplayer focused game that doesn’t charge almost another full game’s worth for additional content, it doesn’t even charge anything. In a time where everywhere you turn a publisher is asking you to pay another $50 for a season pass to a game that isn’t even released I feel this deserves it more than any of the others.
Correction. Best WiiU game, Monster Hunter 4 deserves best 3DS game in my opinion.
Wooooow, both Xenoblade X AND Splatoon get shafted in the GOTY category? That’s dumb.
Meanwhile, if anything but Monster Hunter 4 wins best 3DS game, i’ll be disappointed. I LOVE MM3D but Monster Hunter 4 is an amazing, console-worthy experience on a handheld. It’s not a game to miss, especially if you have an N3DS.
Why the fuck is Shovel Knight nominated on PS4 and Vita? Game came out last year on Wii U and 3DS as a Nintendo exclusive first. (well PC to but console wise) come on now.
Ori finally got the GOTY recognition it deserves, so I’m happy.
My game of the year is Splatoon. Runner ups are Xeno X, YWW, SMM, Undertale. Excluding the Wii U however Undertale was my GOTY.
I agree with lot of you on Xenoblade Chronicles X should of been game of the year category.

Of course XCX won’t be in the GOTY Nominees list & Nintendo only gets Super Mario Maker added in to it. Yeah. That game is going to get it’s ass crushed AGAIN by Witcher 3 just like it did at The Game Awards for Game of the Year… IGN knows XCX could easily take on The Witcher 3. Ugh! I can’t wait to get both of those games in the next 4-6 months!
