Investigative sleuth Emily Rogers has possibly teased a North American release for Mother 3. She tweeted the image that can be seen above with the hashtag 2016 and also apparently wrote the following tweet and has since deleted it “One last thing before I vanish: Don’t be surprised if Nintendo celebrates a game’s 10th anniversary this year…Just some food for thought.” Rogers has been known to be privy to insider information at Nintendo so we can only hope that this information is legitimate.
Update: Liam Robertson has tweeted that he had heard that Mother 3 was in the final stages of localisation at Nintendo Europe a short while back which further adds to this particular rumour.

Hope this is true. Been wanting to try it for a long time now. It’s been such a big tease since Lucas is in Smash, and is one of the few characters who has a game we haven’t played yet.

I called it in like July/August, that I am expecting a Mother 3 Announcement at E3 2016, just like Mother 1/Earthbound Beginnings. Now announce it and prove me right Nintendo.

No I would kill myself if Nintendo was stupid enough to have PORTS as their NX launch games. Zelda U will stay Wii U exclusive as it should. Smash NX….Nintendo doesn’t do ports or GOTY editions of last gen games. Pikmin 4 will be on Wii U since Miyamoto stated he hasn’t done ANYTHING AT ALL involving NX, he likes the Wii U and is content with it right now. As for Mother 3….whoop dee doo the minority of fans who are those die hard Mother fans are like the Shenmue fans, the past was the past, leave it alone already.
At this point, I think to many people who’ve invested in Wii U would call total bullshit on Nintendo’s behalf. No new main Zelda game for a new home console would be horrible.

Remember when she said a big unnanounced Wii U game was to be revealed on Monday…yeah…not a damn thing, she is a nobody who is full of shit. I don’t even care for Earthbound or “Mother” I should say.
She said she would “spill the beans” on an unannounced Wii U game she had received word of from several sources, not that Nintendo would make an announcement. And she ended up revealing that it was Paper Mario a few days early anyway.

I never said it did, it’d make it a better game though. Ocarina of Time on the N64 is amazing, but the 3DS version is superior with updated graphics.

Oh MAN! This is the best thing I’ve heard since Nintendo finally released the original Earthbound on Virtual Console. I hope it’s true. Even if it’s just digital. I’ll take it in any way that I can. I always wanted to play this game. And if Nintendo ever released a physical disc with all 3 Earthbound games, I think I’d faint from happiness. Especially if the games were all enhanced with better graphics etc.

But Super Mario RPG was released AGES ago on the original Wii Virtual Console in North America.

A shame I lost interest in Earthbound as soon as I got out of Onett. But you Earhbound fans are welcome because I helped contribute to letting Nintendo’s dumb American Sect know there is a willing consumer base for the other entrants in the Mother franchise.
It picks up again once you reach Happy Happy Village and the cult obsessed with the color blue. If you manage to press on, I assure you EB is a hell of a time.
