Martin Sahlin from Cordwood Interactive, the development team behind the well-received Unravel on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, has expressed his interest in porting the 2D platformer to the Nintendo NX. Like everyone else, Sahlin wishes he knew more about the NX platform before he commits to developing the game for it but he is open to the idea.
“No, absolutely not. The more ways we have to reach the audience, the better,” he stated. When asked whether he knew anything about Nintendo’s upcoming console, he stated “I wish I did- but they’re really secretive about it! About the NX, it’s funny, really. I wish I knew more about it, but they’re really secretive about it. I actually had a really fun discussion with a person from Nintendo a while back. It was basically ‘I’ll show you mine, if you show me yours’ (laughs). So he wanted me to pitch something for the NX, and then he could tell me more about what it was. But basically, it’s kind of hard to pitch something when you don’t even know what it is! So if you manage to guess it right, we’ll tell you what it is. So, I don’t know. But I am just as curious as everybody else to see what they’ve been making.”
-||Unravel 2 = NX too weak to handle regardless of reason, even if it’s not weak we won’t make a NX version||-
This is an Indie Development studio who was published by EA.
-||So?||-
Well I’m boycotting EA and have been for a while so um, yeah.
YEAH! MAKE THOSE DAMN INDIE DEVS WHO WORK SO HARD ON A GAME PAY!
Seriously dude, you’re the reason why Nintendo keeps losing third party support.
Unravel is actually an amazing game and porting it to NX would be even better for me, despite the fact I own the game on PC, I really would love to see it on NX. Also, just because EA PUBLISHED the game doesn’t mean you have to make the devs suffer for it, they worked hard on the game and it shows.
If it was DICE, I’d understand because those guys are basically the boss’s little pet who always agrees with their boss whilst the Unravel devs are just an indie company that started up and just need money to release the game.
They can go to another publisher. Nothing is stopping them. I want EA gone and I’m not supporting them.
I’m the reason why Nintendo keeps losing third party support? I don’t support them on the ps4 either you stupid knob.
This is EA’s final chance. Riccitiello (Unity CEO) and Doug Bowser (Nintendo VP of Sales) had already left the worst company in America. EA better not screw The Big N up!
Worry about yourself dude, not nintendo. Make sure you don’t get screwed over by anyone.
Lol, really? We discussing games here.
So am I wtf.
Yeah! Fuck the people who are actually like EA titles!
Oh what’s that? They want to play an EA game on a Nintendo console? Well fuck them!
See how selfish you sound? Fucking Nintendrone.
-||Electron filth will be banned forever until they are purified from corruption, call them Nintendrone as much as you want, intelligence comes from banning anything related to Electron abominations, published or otherwise||-
-||And now also Ubisian infections||-
The commander is always right, Xbot rare breed. No fucking wonder you’re in the endangered species list.
In a world where Apple and Comcast live, how the fuck EA get the worst company of America award? -_- that boggles my mind every time.
-||The Applings are next||-
Right, because apple products are terrible
-||Products have nothing to do with their agenda||-
whatever you say
It isn’t worst company in america, it is the worst company in america for customer service. Sites and other people always leave that part out.
I find their customer service BETTER than Valve’s, so I’m surprised that Valve isn’t the worst
I see, but still, I know some companies with worst customer service than EA. It boggles me that companies like MetroPCS, CricketWireless, Comcast, TimeWarner, or Monster have supposed better CS than EA.
Who votes on this stuff anyways?
People on the Internet votes for this. It is an online only vote.
Yes yes and yes, this game doesn’t have the hardest puzzles but they are good, and aesthetically, its beautiful.

I’ll be very pleased if it comes to fruition…..but I still see a dark future of EA enslavement for that poor trembling man…..

No reason this could’t be ported to the Wii U except lazy developers..period. It is the perfect fit for Nintendo and the Wii U could handle it. You want to cultivate a following with Nintendo gamers? Port it to the Wii U. There are 12 million owners needing good games to buy that have demonstrated that good games will sell as long as they are polished. Nobody wants to play your 1 or 2 year old Unravel game on the NX when most likely Unravel 2 is out or for more than $9.99. Christ these developers are clueless.
Go into your office. Port the game over. No need to use the gamepad. Just a quick optimization. Would take about 3 months to really knock it out well. Release in the Summer when us Wii U owners will be starving for conent. Proceed to sell as much as you did on the other platforms. What’s the problem?
This game is published by EA. And they didn’t chose the Wii U because they already view that platform as not profitable for them. The developers are not being lazy.
