This week’s video game hardware and software charts are now in via Media Create. It hasn’t really been a great week for any platform with the Wii U particularly struggling. 1. Like I said, if this is really because of a Wii U stock shortage, it’s says a lot about how Nintendo feels about the Wii U. :/

  1. Looks like some stock is coming through. As noted in the article, some of the big name stores will receive stock on Saturday. The still limited and two of the stores will only be selling one per person.

  2. Stock shortages huh? Didnt they gain that experience with Wii? Thats stupid wouldnt they had thought about producing enough to met demand? Somy can with PS4

  3. I think I read somewhere the Wii U stock will be back to normal at the end of March 2016. So it’s not surprising the sales are low but after April 2016, Nintendo should not have any excuse. Saying that if Nintendo did not implemented any region lock in their sustems, they could have take some stock from US and Europe and meet the demand in Japan within 2 weeks (hope they learn their lesson).

Looking at how the wii U was received and despite the NX coming next year (hopefully) the wii u will do very well until the end of the first year of the NX. (I am doing a patcher here)

I really believe the adoption rate for the NX will be really slow if the NX is a home console (I am doing a patcher again!!!) cause the timing would be just very bad if released in 2016. Personnaly I would not release the NX before the end of 2017 which is far enough that people don’t wait for the PS5 or Xbox 720-2 but also give enough time to get a huge libraries of games during the launch windows. Addtionaly people who brought their wii u in 2012 will be satisfy enough to invest their money into a new system.
