A new trailer has been released for the highly acclaimed 3DS title, Yo-Kai Watch. The video shows off the compatibility between the game and the real-life medals sold alongside the toy watch. By scanning the medals into the game, players receive rewards, such as rare Yo-Kai. You can see a demonstration of this nifty feature in the video below.
Yo-Kai Watch is now available in the US, and is set to launch in Europe on April 23rd.

Why didn’t Nintendo let us know the 3DS game could use the medals when the game launched? I have yet to play the game (I’m still undecided if I will or not) but had I already played the game and then found this out… I would have been upset.
I was wondering when they were gonna start selling these. I used them with my JP versions, but I only scanned ones I found online.
Nowhere within the materials you get from the Watch or the medals does it mention anything about being compatible with the 3DS game. This feature has probably been largely ignored. The only game the medal packs or Watch promote is the iOS/Android app, which is really boring. They should’ve done a better job promoting these. I have a bunch of the medals I chose to get for collectible purposes (I got bored of the app game fast) so it’s nice to know I can use them in the actual game. I’ll have to check it out later.
