Super Mario Maker‘s biggest issue may be the random deletion of levels, and David “GrandPOObear” Hunt is the latest person to experience this. All of his levels were deleted. He eventually got on the phone with Nintendo’s customer service. However, there was no solution. Every common reason levels are taken down, such as inappropriate activity or cheating, could not be found.
So what does Hunt think the reason behind this is? He feels it’s a punishment for speaking out against Nintendo for their policies. Many people have done this, but he has a video trail of documented evidence.
Nintendo has still avoided the issue, and did not comment on it.
If this is why, my god! The disease that is the Miiverse admins is spreading to other faculties of Nintendo! D:

Sadly, some games on the PS4 have this same issue when they get patches, too. So I’m assuming the Xbone also has this issue. So Nintendo is not intentionally doing that with their patches for Smash Bros. So it seems to be a big problem all around this gen.

Once I got banned from Miiverse because I said I liked Persona 4 and was getting Persona 5 to someone in a comment. Then, someone said the comment was inappropriate and banned me for 1 or 2 weeks (forgot how long lol). It was the first time I posted anything on there too XD If they want it child friendly, why do they have M rated games with communities XD

yup, pretty much…I call them miiverse trolls, a good artist can’t even post a great art work without being banned.
One of the artists I followed name Eric is one such victim of getting permabanned. He made another account but still. Then there was another named Mina who was extremely good. She eventually got tired of her drawings getting reported & blocked so she pretty much quit Miiverse altogether. She did come back a long while ago & drew a great Rosalina picture but left again. I think she just lurks it now at this point, Yeahing things she likes. Except for Monday nights & the occasional Sunday night, I mostly lurk on there, too, when I’m not either on here or playing a video game. All the changes has ruined Miiverse for me. :/
I still go there, and jwillz is an extremely good artist, got banned the next day later and for nothing. I got good skills myself, but I just do quick doodles just to avoid the trolls that get jealous that someone can draw better then them.I got proof of my drawings and one picture of jwillz on my deviant art. I was banned for calling a kid “Silly” we live in a day and age where everyone pulls the “YOU HURT MY FEELINGS!!!” card. Yep. One time, someone had a picture from Super Metroid asking how to get out of an area they were trapped in. They were directly below the secret passage in the picture so I told them to “shoot up.” Next thing I know, my comment got reported for being bullying/hateful. Now that I think about it, I think that comment is still blocked on Miiverse even after I said sent the pre-made defense of “I did not violate the blah blah blah.”
Apparently those fucking imbeciles don’t actually read the fucking context & take some comments out of context. I expect that bullshit from a horrible news outlet that likes to paint innocent people in a negative light by taking what they say out of context & using it to say this person is bad, evil, etc.

It’s not a random deletion. The manual clearly explains that if your level doesn’t get enough stars it gets deleted. This is to avoid a massive cluster of poorly designed levels.
It’s something necessary to avoid all those garbagy levels

See that’s the thing, it’s practically luck whether or not your level gets popular, and that completely ruins even wanting to make levels for me. Why would I even bother making a level if no one’ll ever play it if it doesn’t get lucky enough to be popular…
Exactly, becoming popular in Mario Maker never felt like making quality levels, it felt like being a popular youtuber or just getting lucky. The system’s downright broken but sadly there is no real other way to do it.
He made some of the most popular levels….do your damn research before you make a fool out of yourself.

Neither do I –and I agree with you: In my opinion, it is in fact a glitch or something like that. But I’m uncomfortable with the idea that people don’t get a deletion warning from Nintendo beforehand the level vanishes.
Nintendo could have handled this situation much better.
If it were a glitch Nintendo would have mentioned it like they did the last time there was a glitch where they had to shut down the Mario Maker servers till they fixed it. Can’t he just re-upload the levels. I don’t own the game, so I’m not sure how it works.
No, if you dig a little deeper, you will see that it was a portion of the save file that was deleted. So not only are the levels not available online, but all his stars are gone, and the levels within the editor itself. Curiously, the editor shows other levels, but the ones that were uploaded are 100% gone and not showing the blocked from upload icon.
