We heard earlier today that the next game in the extremely popular Call of Duty franchise would be revealed soon, well, next week. Now it has emerged that the game is titled Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. The name was spotted by a NeoGAF user on PSN as someone must have flicked a switch a little early. Still, the title seems a little uninspired, but we shall have to wait and see what the game’s like once it’s revealed sometime next week.
I’m calling it now. The next game will be the prequel to it all, and will be called Zero Warfare 😂

Why exactly?
What does this franchise do besides spawn raging kids who scream into your ears? It’s also milked to the point of getting one, sometimes two games every year, making previous entries obsolete, and people just blindly buy ’em up. There’s no originality anymore either.
I cannot stand by this franchise.
It sound’s personal, I’m here to state that even as a complete Nuub at the game, I was welcomed very kindly by the people playing. War is a very complicated thing, given the setting of the game’s its easy to understand different scenarios probably come up all the time around they’re studio’s.
Its all a matter of what you enjoy, I personally love the story modes in every COD game I’ve played.
And your bit about buying new ones, making the old ones obsolete, doesn’t this technically happen to every series that sells enough to warrant a new game’s release? Let it go bro, it’s not worth wasting negative energy on. :D
The campaign stories have been very good and very well made. But to your point, most kids don’t bother to play campaign mode, they just play for the chaotic multi-player. X.x
That’s exactly what I’m saying bro… I didn’t hear any kids over this last week of playing. One guy was even saying “good game” like after every game. People make it out to be something it’s not.
It would be nice if that meant something more in terms of an “infinite” stream of updates of weaponry and maps for the lifetime of the “current gen” in a sense copying what Splatoon did, but in a different way.
Except, knowing the publisher (is it still EA?), if they do it that way, every bit of DLC, no matter how little, is gonna be like $7.

Sure, that would be bad. But, fps still have a place and when done well they are very fun, addicting games. If they didn’t do it with the in game purchases that would be great, but it’s business first and money money money… still though, if the new map was NEW I would pay a little bit for said map. But to pay for everything would get silly. Great business model especially when so many would pony up.

Not too sure why this is news; we all know it’s not coming for the Wii U (and probably not for the NX, either (still in the camp that thinks it’s not coming this year)).
Actually, more hints are pointing towards the game releasing on NX, and it does seem the system will release this year.
Where exactly are the hints? Because the only hints that I’m seeing is that the game probably exists and it will be available on PlayStation 4.
As for NX releasing this year, the only things that make it seem so is the amount of hype that’s surrounding it. But that’s not strong enough. Since the GameCube (and probably even earlier than that), Nintendo has always announced the system with its concepts in the first year and then released the system the following year. This is so that they have time to properly develop the marketing and advertising, as well as to drum up official knowledge about the system. If they release it this year,…
… then they’re going to be in the exact damn position as they were before with the Wii U. It doesn’t matter if this thing is more powerful than current or next-gen hardware: if they screw up with the advertising, it’s not going to sell well (like with GameCube and Wii U). And Furthermore, it would just show that they haven’t learned their lessons in terms of how to make their game sell (because from what it looks like, 5 months isn’t enough for their marketing/advertising departments to properly develop a strategy to sell things; they aren’t Microsoft or Sony).
As for why they announced it last year, it’s only to make sure that rumours didn’t go on about them leaving the hardware business, so they had to deflect that right then and there. But other then that, it’s all business as usual. Furthermore, if you looked at the Iwata’s Asks for the main hardware, they’ve almost always say that they make their next console very soon after the release of the current generation system. it’s not a good idea to rush it out because it WILL fail if they end up doing something like this.

You said both of these statements at the same time (the time stamp says 5:19PM for me). My comments before yours weren’t a reply to you. I started the conversation saying that the article isn’t something that we need to be wondering about. Robot Zombie Games then said that there are hints that it’s coming out on the NX and that it would be coming out this year. I was confused by the statement because I see no such hints. So I replied with that. Then I said that Nintendo has (generally speaking) followed a pattern with releasing and launching console and handheld systems and I mentioned a warning that if they ruin it then they wouldn’t sell the NX properly because they wouldn’t be doing their best at their advertising.
In no way did I say or imply that Nintendo (in respect to the reply to RZG) is a bad company. My opinion with them isn’t favourable, but only because the Canadian currency is in bad shape, so it makes it harder for me to buy anything from a US company or elsewhere, so my opinion over all non-Canadian companies aren’t favourable either. But “shit” and “defecation” are pretty strong words and it’s not often to see someone reply to a comment (that had nothing to do with whether or not they are horrible) twice with those two words individually added onto each other. This suggests that you’ve been abused by the big bad bully that is Nintendo. Nintendo is (metaphorically speaking) stabbing your well-being and making you sick. If you really weren’t angry at them, absolutes wouldn’t be in the picture. Or at least you would have either said a non-absolute word or words, like “fucking stupid” or “dumb”. But you didn’t want to, because that wasn’t true. You needed stronger words. So you chose “shit” and “defecation” instead.
Your continual attacks at me won’t help you solve the problem, because here’s the thing: you’re giving me a gift, but I am not taking the gift. And if I am not taking the gift, then… who has the gift? It’s all because you have a problem and you need to have it solved. Your problem is Nintendo, and your only solution is to burn or sell your belongings that have any reminder of Nintendo and to start anew with Sony, Microsoft, and maybe even Steam, too. I’m saying that there’s a possibility that you might have traits of it. And I say that because you’re cracking. I say that… because your anonymity protects you and acts as a barrier. With anonymity, your true feeling are starting to come out. That’s good. Embrace it. and eventually, you will be confident to say, “I will NOT be tortured, manipulated, and abused by Nintendo ANYMORE!”

Really, is COD really that bad in people’s mind? It is fun and while it might be too bad that they have cornered the FPS market and nearly monopolized it, there is something to be said for running around and killing your friends in a video game. If they hadn’t fucked up the 007 series royally I’m sure many of you would be singing its praises. In fact,the 007 for Wii was pretty good.

I really just like Ghosts with the local multiplayer and the use of the gamepad and tv as separate screens. I’ve said it before, but it never gets old to me. My wife and I simply can’t stop playing it every night. There just hasn’t been new games that are multiplayer that have swayed us from it. Splatoon is good though, but my daughter plays that, not us

All I’m reading is a lot of bullshitting and wasted negativity over a game that, A) they just don’t like, or B) are not any good at. :]
I don’t play them to the point where I feel I gotta play every installment. But I personally find majority of the stories have been enjoyable and fun to play, all varied enough to not feel copy and pasted. Also it seems people complain that its full of loud mouth, racist chant slurring heathens that yell all the time, which hasn’t been my experience at all when playing online.
All in all, all the hate towards a company that can make games that sell is pointless. It wouldn’t hurt the Wii U or NX having them on board.

Call of Duty is one of those franchises that really should get the World of Warcraft treatment where they release expansions after a couple of months that lengthen the game’s story for a lower price than what an entirely new game release costs. Like the base game is 60 bucks and every expansion afterwards that comes out 6 months to a year after the game’s initial release is 20-30 bucks. Of course, this is an idea best utilized at the very BEGINNING of a new gen of consoles.
