Pikachu Pokken Tournament Controller Is A GameStop Exclusive In North America

We reported last week that the Tekken-inspired monster brawler,  Pokken Tournament was getting a new Pikachu-themed controller in Japan.  Well, get excited North American fans, because the pad is coming overseas! According to GameStop, the controller will be released on July 31st in limited quantity–and assuming that the discreet “Only at Gamestop” note that’s appended to the product title is correct, the controller will be exclusive to the retailer. This seems like one of the many steps GameStop will be taking in the near future to shift their business from physical game sales.

  1. And this is why I consider Nintendo so stupid. They give gamestop stuff like this and Xenoblade chronicles for the wii. Meanwhile, gamestops in the US barely have any display space for Nintendo but this small ass wall. Xbox 1, ps4, ps3 and Xbox 360 take up all their space. Nintendo are really idiots.

    1. I know, right! Not to mention the walls for PS3 & Xbox 360. But Nintendo of America ARE being ran by a bunch of dumb monkeys throwing feces at each other in the office, after all.

  2. This…is…all we have to look forward to till Zelda? A stupid controller that works for one game only with pikachu slapped on? I’m so unexcited for video games. Zelda may be my last hurrah sadly. Whatever 3D Mario they are working on better be good for starters for me to even consider NX. Terrible time to be a Nintendo gamer and if you disagree you’re part of the problem.

      1. He’s right. You are part of the problem if you give Nintendo a pass for being crappy. You don’t realize it but you, and other fanboys, are pretty much just suffering from Stockholm Syndrome. So in love with your captors that you don’t even realize you are just over glorified prisoners. But whatever. Enjoy being slaves to the machine.

          1. You did read the part where I said IF you give Nintendo a pass, right? If means I’m not saying it’s a certainty that you are. Either way, it doesn’t matter as my opinion on this matter won’t change whether you are a fanboy or not.

          1. If you defend Nintendo and all their decisions leading to where they are with no games for a year and ditching wii u owners who never asked for a gamepad that would make for a weaker system, then yes you are by definition a fanboy. I love how you guys don’t see the obvious. But hey I’m just trolling, right?

    1. That’s why you get another console… endless choices of games! I’m just so happy having a PS4 and Wii U. Even if the Wii U lacks games in 2016. :)

    2. If you bought a Wii U at launch, yeah it fucking sucks for you because you didn’t expect to get fucked in the mouth by nintendo. But the thing failed and is way past repair, they named it the fucking wii U I don’t think there is any coming back from that branding or the gamepad for most consumers. So the NX is on the horizon soon and there is nothing right now because there can’t be, anything even halfway decent in development or even near complete games they should be put on NX because they need it to succeed, no point on throwing it to the wolves on the console they are trying to get rid of. Nintendo put themselves in this fucked up place and now they have to suffer for it, a whole year of nothing because they didn’t do anything right for the wii U and it’s consumers. I bought mine for splatoon (among a lot of other stuff but that was the tipping point) knowing it was a sinking ship, for me it was worth it. I don’t think nintendo fans that got burned should support them again if they feel like they got burned and nintendo does not care about them, but I don’t think for one second that anyone saying these things will stick to their guns at all. I mean do you seriously see yourself skipping the inevitable 3D mario, metroid (was pretty much confirmed to be in development, but you should expect one anyway after wii U skipping it), MK9, Zelda (not just Zelda U but I doubt it will be like the Wii U and not have it’s own since this console HAS to last for nintendo), Some donkey kong shit at some point, an eventual sequel to splatoon even if they do port it first? Those are just the guaranteed things that will happen in it’s lifespan, not even the shit nintendo is going to try and throw curveballs with that no one expects.

  3. Zelda U is actually coming out both on Wii U and NX. I’ve got Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE, that Super Mario Color Splash game thingy, and Zelda U to look foreward to, and that’s about all I’d get anyways unless there was a Xenoblade Chronicles remaster or something or if Watch Dogs 2 came out on Wii U (unlikely, but we’ll see since Ubisoft said after Assassin’s Creed 4 that they wouldn’t bring any more mature games to the Wii U… And then they brought over Watch Dogs).
