Japanese publication Famitsu has recognised Splatoon as the 2015 game of the year and also for their ‘innovation’ award at the Famitsu 2015 awards at the Tokyo Dome Hotel this month. There were also numerous other titles recognised at this event, check them out below:

I’m surprised that they’re still figuring out 2015 and we’re already the middle of 2016.
I trust Famitsu as a non-biased source since their reviews are done as a group and they put together all their scores… but why are they just now naming their favorite 2015 titles?? XD
You shouldn’t. I can’t think of an outlet with more inflated scores.
I appreciate how they allow the initial hype and paid-review frenzy to die down before really stepping back and recognizing the titles that really stood out.
That is true. A bit too late since we’re in May already, but these list always come out too early anyway.
Staying fresh is what they do… and deserves that title. Game of the Year by Famitsu!

CD Projekt RED didn’t get Best Developer thanks to Witcher 3? Seriously?
I still doubt that I’ll like Splatoon even when I finally have a chance to play it. If I DO like it, it will be the first time I ever liked a shooter of any kind. Much like Star Fox was the first (and only) space shooter I ever liked.
