WayForward has announced via Twitter that retail versions of Shantae: Half-Genie Hero will be available in the future and published by XSEED games.

The physical versions will be a special edition named “Risky Beats” which will include a 20 song CD for free with the copy of the game. If you are expecting a copy from backing the Kickstarter campaign, this will be unaffected, as WayForward is still handling the backer rewards and download codes.

That’s Awesome! Can’t wait for this game!
I’ve been enjoying the series since I found the original game in a pawn shop. I can say for a fact that not one game in the three is anything less then spectacular.
The mere fact that you found one in a pawn shop is actually pretty freaking incredible.
How could you find one in a pawn shop? I thought these games were all digital only?
The original Shantae was a very late GameBoy color release. 2001, everyone was celebrating the GBA at the time.
This is the best possible news ever! I am sad since this means the $250 I spent on the Kickstarter wont net me a physical copy, but I love this franchise so much that I will buy a physical copy too!
