Good news for fans of Nintendo’s fantastic multiplayer shooter Splatoon as the latest update is due to drop on June 8th. Thankfully, Nintendo UK has provided a change log with all the new additions and tweaks that the latest update will bring. You can read all the changes to the colourful shooter, below.
Update contents
New weapons and gear
- Nine new weapons added, available in the weapon shop Ammo Knights
- Please note: the new weapons and gear will appear in the shop following the release of the software update.
- Two new kinds of gear added, available in the shop
Weapon and ability adjustments
- Adjustments to main weapons, sub weapons and abilities.

Stage adjustments
- Arowana Mall: Adjustments to prevent players from taking certain shortcuts in all modes.
- Bluefin Depot: Fixed a problem where players could go inside a certain object in Rainmaker mode.
- Camp Triggerfish: Adjustment for detecting when you have brought the Rainmaker too far back towards your own starting area
- Piranha Pit: Adjustments to prevent players from taking certain shortcuts in all modes.
Fixes for issues in battles
- Fixes an issue where players could jump higher than usual by touching an opponent’s Splash Wall
Other changes
- Introduces several enhancements to improve the user’s experience and enjoyment

This update is required in order to play online.
Downloading updates will not affect any of your saved data.

I love how not too long ago they said the updates to Splatoon with new content would cease yet it’s still getting new content. Now this is what I fucking call long term support! Not unlike what they said with Hyrule Warriors was going to get support for a long run! <.<
For me, they’ve redeemed the barebone release of this game at 60 bucks when it was worth 20 bucks at best during it’s initial release now! Now if I wasn’t fucking turned off by Wii U, I’d definitely get Splatoon. :/

As a whole, I think Nintendo has been doing a pretty good job when it comes to updates and DLC. Especially with Smash Bros, Splatoon and what they did with the Amiibo functions.
I am really back to playing this game. Its fun.. i wonder in the future will they allow 3 stages.. I say that because it looks like when online the stage display has a gap as if they were thinking of adding 3 stages to play off of every 4 hours instead of two.
Or just do the more sensible thing and allow players to vote for what map they want to play.
I want to see new maps in the sequel, but I really hope Urchin Underpass, Flounder Heights, and Piranha Pit return.
