You may recall last year’s Pokemon World Championships, where two men were put under arrest after threatening violence to attendees. Unlicensed guns and several other weapons were found in their vehicle. James Stumbo and Kevin Norton, the suspects arrested, recently went on trial for their crimes and the verdict has come in. They have pled guilty to charges that they brought a rifle, shotgun, and hundreds of rounds of ammunition to the Pokemon World Championship last summer. They will serve two-year sentences of prison and two years of probation. They pair has previously served 335 days since they were arrested.

Dunno. They “pled guilty to charges that they brought a rifle, shotgun, and hundreds of rounds of ammunition”. I am not aware of them confessing that they had actual intent to carry out a mass shooting (and there’s a lot to suggest they didn’t). Given that, two (three) years seems a little harsh.
I wonder if that enough for them NOT to plan a mass shooting. Seriously though it’s good to see that this was prevented. After everything else has been going on recently I’m glad one mass shooting was prevented.

Besides, just what were their intentions anyway, if their criminal activity was associated with Pokemon? Were they that unhappy with the franchise’s direction. All I can say is, 2015 brought out the worst quality in video games, movies, and television, and the worst in us.
I doubt their intentions had anything to do with Pokemon. Just knowing it was a place with a large concentration of people was enough.
