The NES Mini Features CRT Mode And Pixel Perfect Mode

Retro gaming enthusiast will be pleased to hear that the NES Mini will feature a number of display modes. You can play the NES games in HD, if you wish, or if you want a more throwback experience there’s a CRT mode and a pixel perfect mode.

“What is interesting is that we can play through HDMI, but there will be different modes of how we will see the screen – a mode simulating the retro aspect of our old CRT screens, there will be a mode which can be at the resolution of the modern screens in 4:3 format, and a pixel perfect mode which will display each pixel as a square, so people can have fun with this too.”

  1. Nice! Good to here that there will be some output options. Hopefully they lay off of the anti-aliasing filter that plagues the Wii U NES titles. The only thing missing is 5:4 resolution, which is a better approximation of the intended resolution than 1:1 or 4:3.
