NPD: Here’s The Best-Selling Games In The United States For July 2016

It’s that time of the month again when we find out which games were the best-sellers in the United States courtesy of the NPD Group. It was a good month for Nintendo who walked away with the best-selling hardware with the Nintendo 3DS. Monster Hunter Generations also performed well and was the best-selling new release for the month.

  1. Grand Theft Auto V
  2. Overwatch
  3. Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens
  4. Monster Hunter: Generations
  5. Call of Duty: Black Ops III
  6. Minecraft
  7. NBA 2K16
  8. Doom 2016
  9. Destiny: The Taken King
  10. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege

“Declines in the average price for the 2DS by 33 percent resulted in a five-fold increase in unit sales for the 2DS to 78K units. The 3DS also saw an increase in unit sales of 18 percent, making the combined 2DS and 3DS platforms the best-selling hardware for July 2016 based on units.”

  1. Five games on that list are pretty much the same damn game, and the only one out of those five that’s worth it’s salt is Doom! Overwatch is Overhyped micro transaction garbage! Micro transactions wasn’t okay in other games and it shouldn’t be acceptable in Overwatch either!

          1. It’s also possible to get those items without paying btw, but you need a whole lot of luck, haha. Paying just increases the chances.
It’s definitely worth giving a shot if you’re into shooters, especially in case you’re looking for something that’s a bit different than most of today’s FPS games; it has lots of interesting characters, each of them having their own distinct playstyle. The game’s far from perfect, but still very enjoyable.
How do you like No Man’s Sky so far?

            1. I like FPS games but I tend to get bored of them quickly unless there is something unique about it, which is why I always go back to Splatoon, at this point I think I can say it’s my favorite shooter of all time. But Overwatch definitely looks unique, so I am interested in getting it at some point. No Man’s Sky is cool, I really enjoy the visuals and art design, it’s a beautiful game. I’ve only explored two planets so far, I haven’t really had as much time as I’d like to really sit down with the game for an extended period of time.

                1. In the soccer game they made, there’s a cheat going on that you can play as multiple characters and use their special abilities in the soccer match when it’s only suppose to be one character that every single play uses. It’s 3 on 3 and every one has the same character, but the cheat let’s you use different characters when you shouldn’t. Hopefully that makes sense.

      1. Ugh – another idiot who talks about a game he knows nothing about. The game is a 60 dollar game that does not have mircotransactions. You can buy stuff to edit the way your person looks, but you do not need to buy anything but the game. You also get lootboxs which give you these clothes and gear for free.
