Rumor: All Wii U Consoles Were Recalled At A Local Best Buy

All Wii U consoles were apparently recalled recently at a local Best Buy in Canada. This is according to a member of the gaming community, who said that a Best Buy employee claims that the recall happened “for some reason.” The Canadian website for the retailer is also not selling Wii U consoles at the moment, but it’s unclear as to whether this is related to the supposed recall. Best Buy will have a limited amount of the NES Classic Edition for sale tomorrow, December 20.

  1. A friend of mine says a fire broke out in a room of their house after purchasing a Wii U. It was only contained to one room, but the room was highly damaged, and according to the investigation, it’s believed to have started from the Wii U’s battery. I’m not sure if there have been more incidents of this, but if the recent Wii Us are defective that could be a major reason.

  2. ^Word? What happened to quality control? My unit from 2014 hasn’t set ablaze yet and I use it every week.

  3. I bought a wii u charger during the summer and it almost caused a fire. It just made a popping noise. They stopped putting effort into them after 2013.

  5. This won’t affect Breath of the Wild’s release will it? Cause, I live in Georgia here in the States, but I’m worried Wii U owners in Canada won’t get to play the new Zelda next year! And that I’m worried that the game will be cancelled for Wii U!

  6. well crap i was planning on Buying the Nintendo Wii U by the end of the year Holiday until i stumble upon the news that they have Recalled it for unknown reason heck i was gonna buy both consoles of nintendo instead.
