Nintendo Switch Probably Won’t Fit In Any Of Your Pockets

Nintendo Switch is being marketed as a home console first and foremost, but it also serves as a handheld system that can be used for on-the-go gaming. However, because of its size and attachable Joy-Con controllers, it probably won’t fit in any of your pockets. It might be a good idea to invest in a carrying case like the one included in the special-edition version of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Nintendo Switch will launch worldwide on March 3 for $299.99 in the U.S.

    1. Most people I knows with DS’s, 3DS’s, PSP’s, and Vitas aren’t carrying them in their pockets either. They carry them either in their book bags or in special cases for them, myself included. So you’re definitely not alone.

As for all the naysayers and trolls bashing the Switch “You can’t carry it in your pocket”, very few people carry any portable gaming system in their pockets. So no worries about the Switch not fitting in our pockets.

      1. No, he can wear what ever he wants, but anyone who wears skinny jeans really cant complain about what fits in their pockets. I have a few cargo camo shorts and those pockets can hold my 8in tablet.

I’d choose those over a fanny pack or man purse any day! And it might just be me but I like them. One of my avatars on Gaia uses those 70 pants that is similar to those jeans. lol It’s like having those on is the same as those samurai pants. BUT WITH POCKETS!!! :D

          1. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Well a fanny pack or a man purse is just not an option. If worst comes to worst, and I for some reason need to move my Switch and it has to be done right away, ill just use my old backpack. I just cant go back to JNCO jeans ๐Ÿ˜… My mom use to work at JNCO factory in L.A. so i got mine for cheap and boy did I rock them ๐Ÿ˜‚

  1. Wish I had figured this out before I ordered the standard edition of Zelda. I’m gonna try to get the Special Edition sometime before release date, but who knows if that’ll happen…

  2. correction: it can not fit in jeans back pockets, for people like me who wear trench coats i could carry it around just fine probably

*looks at the name* That’s such a contradiction! Fanboys don’t complain. They worship everything their masters throw at them. I swear some people don’t know how the term fanboy is used on the internet these days. *shrug*

If I do, it’ll be in a metal box with tons of bubble wrap inside! xD

  3. If u take off the joycons and out them in ur other pocket then it shuld b easier to carry in ur pocket…oh and if u wear khakis to work then u shuld a little bit more deeper pockets.

  4. If u take off the joycons and put those in a separate pocket then it shuld b easier to carry around. (and if u wear khakis to work then u shuld hav a slightly bigger pockets)

  5. I will most likely keep the switch at home and not even attempt to put it in my cargo pockets (where my wallet and cellphone are already stored. Even without the extra stuff the device likely won’t fit in my cargo pockets anyway, similar to the guy with the skinny jeans. If for some reason I want the switch to leave home I will put it in a drawstring bag with my kindle ereader. But who knows I could change my mind.

  6. It’ll fit nicely in my Endor SW backpack. I can’t even fit a 3DS in my pocket, so this is of little concern.

  7. I’ve seen the size comparisons, I know it will fit in my pocket, it’s only a little bit bigger than the 3DS XL. You just have to be not a total idiot like the guy in the picture – wear something with bigger pockets and remove the Joycons and put them in another pocket.

  8. Is this article really worth posting? Did anybody expect to be able to carry this in their pocket? The article doesn’t even provide any actual info, like system dimensions. It just says “because of its size”.

  9. The same whoยดs writting this kinds of articles are the ones that carry an ipad whitin their pocket … hypocrisy

  10. I wear cargo pants and have no problem carrying my 3DS in my pocket, and the Switch is not much bigger (minus Joycons). I could easily have the Switch in my cargo pocket and Joycons in my regular pocket.

No one should have been surprised by this. Even if I could put it in my pocket, it’s not leaving my house unless in a metal box with bubble wrap inside.
