In an embarrassing turn of events, Nintendo Of Spain recently have had to re-select winners of a competition due to 15 of the original batch having ties with Nintendo itself. Much like other territories and Nintendo’s marketing campaign; players are given the chance to try the Nintendo Switch prior to launch. However, the winners in this case were either partnered with the company for YouTube video purposes, or in one case, actually in a relationship with a Nintendo employee which of course is a widely known no-no.
Angry tweets and YouTube videos produced by Spanish YouTube stars soon cropped up online. Nintendo seemingly cottoned on to the fact that they were effectively breaking the rules of their own T&C’s and have since chosen another 20 competition winners -presumably actual random fans this time.
