Spain: Nintendo Chooses 20 Fans To Play Nintendo Switch Early, 15 Of Which Have Direct Ties With Nintendo

In an embarrassing turn of events, Nintendo Of Spain recently have had to re-select winners of a competition due to 15 of the original batch having ties with Nintendo itself. Much like other territories and Nintendo’s marketing campaign; players are given the chance to try the Nintendo Switch prior to launch. However, the winners in this case were either partnered with the company for YouTube video purposes, or in one case, actually in a relationship with a Nintendo employee which of course is a widely known no-no.

Angry tweets and YouTube videos produced by Spanish YouTube stars soon cropped up online. Nintendo seemingly cottoned on to the fact that they were effectively breaking the rules of their own T&C’s and have since chosen another 20 competition winners -presumably actual random fans this time.

  1. I have no intentions of spamming in any way whatsoever, but I wrote a brief report (in Spanish, of course) on what happened in this controversy. https://www.topofarmer.com/2017/02/08/polemica-del-concurso-soyswitchtuber/ The article is merely factual and covers both the disqualified winners and the new ones.

Google Translate seems to provide a good enough translation in case you can’t read Spanish. Besides, I can answer questions in case anyone is interested in this controversy.

  2. King Kalas X3 {Greatness Awaits at Sony PlayStation 4! Hopefully it will also await us at Nintendo Switch if Nintendo doesn't FUCK things up again!} says:

That’s fucked up, man! I hope the 5 that don’t have ties to Ninty weren’t screwed, though, and there will simply be 25 people instead of just 20 like originally planned. After that fuck up, boosting the number from 20 to 25 would be the nice thing to do.
