The filing of a patent should never be taken as gospel but should be treated as valid interest for the potential release of a product. Nintendo recently filed a patent for Miitopia and according to the US Patent Office; the patent was filed on February 28 the be exact. Miitopia is basically a more in-depth adaptation of the StreetPass 3DS title Quest.
In true Nintendo fashion, Miitopia pits the player against an evil force which is threatening to steal your friends’ faces… because, Nintendo.

I remember back in 2K11 or 2K12 when they talked about this as a StreetPass Mii Plaza game. Boy it took them forever, and its a full retail game. Still glad this did get made after all.
