Over the Moon, the developers behind indie darling The Fall, have announced today that its sequel will make the jump to the Nintendo Switch. The Fall: Unbound was originally planned to be released on the Wii U but the developer has cited the fact that Nintendo has moved on from the platform as the reason why they’ve ditched that particular version. The Fall: Unbound is scheduled for the third quarter of 2017.

We’re coming to the Nintendo Switch! This is great news obviously, but it also appears that Nintendo is switching (hah) focus to promoting that platform over the Wii U. For that reason we’ve decided to focus on resources on supporting the Switch instead of the Wii U. As indies, we simply don’t have the luxury of supporting a platform that’s clearly being sunsetted. I was confident that we’d make it in time, but everyone’s moving on to greener pastures and we’d be fools to stay behind.

It does have an awesome story. I wonder if our heroine was a suit that got jettisoned from the ship for some reason by her owner. Hopefully Unbound answers some questions left unanswered from The Fall’s ending.

  1. Eventually they had good games too. When I will buy Mario Kart 8 Deluxe they can fire up Mario Kart 8 and feel the same since the games are almost, ahem, the same. ^^
In May they can eventually Switch. :P

I’m so glad it’s sequel is coming soon. I loved it on my PS4. But since I do own it on PS4 digitally, I’ll be getting Unbound on PS4, too. Sorry, Switch.
