Disgaea 5 Complete Hits 110K Pre-Orders In The West

Disgaea 5 Complete was a launch title for the Nintendo Switch in Japan, but the game has yet to release in either North America or Europe. However, the game has already got off to a great start with incredible pre-order figures in both territories. NIS America has revealed that over 110,000 copies of the game have been pre-ordered in Europe and America, beating Japan’s disappointing sales. Have you pre-ordered Disgaea 5 Complete for Switch? Tell us below.

“The Japanese video game market is getting smaller. If you look at the recent Tokyo Game Show, you do not feel the momentum that it used to have until five years ago. The Japanese video game market share might be now less than 30 per cent of the world, while I think the western market share accounts for around 70 per cent. Therefore, Japanese games companies need to focus more on the Western market to expand their game business.

“In order to make the NIS Group’s consolidated figures better, our western sales is very important. While the Western pre-order units of Disgaea 5 Switch exceeded 110,000 units, the Japanese sell-in number on the game was unfortunately less than 20,000 units. We had predicted this would happen to some extent. However, we were surprised that the gap was much bigger than we thought.”

  1. Is this also a good game if you want to approach it a little more casually? I have played and finished the Fire Emblem 3DS games and enjoyed them but I wouldn’t exactly call tactical rpg’s my favourite genre…Still tempted to pick this up.

    1. Its both, casual and hardcore. You can go into it casually, grind and level up your characters to the point were theyre OP or strong enough to beat bosses OR, you can go balls in, get intricate as hell, unlock a TON of abilities that can do double, tripple, and I believe even quadruple character combos that string with specials to deal over billion hit points of damage. You dont recruit characters like FE, but make them and add them to your team.

What makes these games amazing is that the stories are always outlandish but hilariously creative. They hit with jokes at every minute. This is not a serious game like the fire emblem games, so take that into consideration. These are games that have very dumb cheesy jokes, that I personally find hilarious.

The protagonist is always evil that believes hes in the side of good, but finds good things to be evil, and punishes people with good things, because thats what this world considers evil or bad lol.

I seriously recommended this series to anyone who likes the FE games, because this series takes it up a notch in the mechanic department and gives you hundreds of hours, with a ridiculous level cap for characters and items.

      1. Thanks a lot man! Cheesy is cool with me :) I think I will give it a try. Will buy retail so I can sell if it really doesn’t click with me.

    2. You can’t find anything more casual than this if it’s like the first. You can enter any object you get and make a standalone ‘battle’ in it. Still has a big campaign too.
You can’t find anything more casual friendly than this.

    1. my first disgaea was on the ds and i’ve also pre-ordered the limited edition, not always i get the chance to go all out on a limited edition that is worth getting to me.
