Niantic has put up a message to its players, via their official support page, informing fans that gyms in Pokemon Go will soon be temporarily closed due to remodelling. The message reads:
Heads Up: Gyms will soon be closing temporarily for remodelling. Any Pokémon you’ve assigned to Gyms will be returned to you at that time.
As the 1 year anniversary of the hugely popular app is fast approaching, here’s hoping that the folk at Niantic are paving the way for a substantial update. It’s also worth being reminded that Niantic CMO, Mike Quigley said this about the games’ gyms back in March:
You know, the gym mechanic is something in Pokémon Go which we really, really want to improve, so that’s gonna be the next big area for us. The capture mechanic is fun, but you’re a lone wolf, you’re going out there on your own. Maybe you’re with friends, but there’s not that, kind of, connected experience. We think there is an opportunity for collaboration in that area, but more to come on that.

They should remodel the whole game. It’s boring.
And what would make it less boring? I’m guessing you’re not the active type..
