When Nintendo fans mention the developer Grezzo, they are usually discussing the 3DS remakes of both Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask. However, the studio has now moved on to their own projects. Ever Oasis is one such game. The upcoming 3DS RPG is the first original property Grezzo has created since 2010, so it seems obvious that their licensed work would have had some influence on this new game. In an interview with FNintendo, Ever Oasis’ producer discussed this. Check out the full interview here.
How did your experience in reworking two classic The Legend of Zelda titles – Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask – for the Nintendo 3DS influence Ever Oasis development?
We worked together with Nintendo staff while developing the game so I think it’s steeped in “Nintendo-isms” such as the controls, how it looks, how it guides players, its rules, the level designs, and the accessibility of its user interface. Still, you can definitely feel the ‘Square-isms’ in it too.
I can’t wait to actually own this game.
Played the demo over the weekend. Definitely has some Zelda influence to it in a good way. Can’t wait to play the whole game.
