The NES Classic stock situation has certainly been a bit of a rollercoaster ride as of late. A few days back we reported that Amazon were selling some in selected cities from a Treasure Truck for the original price of $60. Now, GameStop have seemingly sent an email out to some PowerUp members telling them that they’re giving away 100 NES Classic consoles. Check out the screenshot that Twitter user @Wario64 posted. PowerUp members; have you had an email like this yet?
So they still have more… pic.twitter.com/0ACITBMCio

Are you actually fucking with me right now, is this where they all went to?! First they sell them for almost $100 more than they’re worth over on ThinkGeek and now they’re giving them away to “lucky” people, it’s good for the people who win them, but it’s pretty scummy on their end for holding back stock for this type of stuff.
I didn’t get an email. I’m not sure which type of member I am though.
I didn’t an email either.
didn’t GET*
So GameStop were part of the “scalping” then, since they seemingly kept 100 units off the market? That is my conclusion anyway, since this product to my knowledge is not being produced anymore…
Not that I am surprised, it is GameStop after all…
I wouldn’t put it past them and I like the GameStop retail store closest to me.
||We will drive them to extinction soon like we did with GAME…||
All High Command would have to do is to decide to compete on price in the eShop. GameStop would be immediately eliminated.
||High Command does not concern itself with the machinations of insects, besides, GAME destroyed itself, Gamestop will suffer the same fate, maybe we’ll give it a little push towards the edge of the cliff…||
Better chances of winning the lottery
That’s… really shady. There were people genuinely trying to BUY these things, and they kept them off shelves just for this stunt later on?
Shameful.

LOL they thought hoarding NES Classics is gonna save their broke asses!
Don’t know who wrote the title of this article, but they should know better than to use apostrophes as plurals.
||The ambassador was tired, simple mistake that will be corrected soon…||
Thanks for pointing this out! *Slaps own wrist*
I think putting out Nes Minis out when it was rumored that the Switch has already inside the firmware for the virtual console on the NES games it’s pretty useless.
