The Nintendo Switch version of the popular board game Monopoly recently made its debut with new ways to play. However, it is also currently affected by extremely-long load times. Opening the game from the Switch menu can take anywhere from five to 10 minutes. On top of that, starting a fresh match against AI players can apparently take another five to 10 or more minutes. In order to alleviate this issue, Ubisoft recommends players to restart their console after downloading and installing the game.
“We are aware of a loading time issue with Monopoly for Nintendo Switch and our teams are working on a patch to resolve the issue as soon as possible,” the publisher said in a statement. “In the meantime, players should reboot their Nintendo Switch prior to starting Monopoly for Nintendo Switch. We will share an update when the issue has been resolved.”
i just bought the physical version of this game and first installed the update and then turned off the switch using the power button on the console for a few seconds until power options showed up and then turned it off and then on again and it loads in around 10 seconds. No problem whatsoever!
How is it as a monpoly adaptation? Just the normal game straight up, or does it have interesting options and twists?
I have only started to play the original regular board. So can’t really comment on all the other options and how well they are implemented.
if it’s anything like the ps4 version don’t expect your non-video game friends to like it it. too many buttons.
I remember that joke from Code Monkeys with drunk Dave dissing “Defender” for using too many buttons for a 2D scrolling side shooter.
Lazy ass programming. It takes Mario Kart 8 10-13 seconds to load while Skyrim takes 25 seconds. A fucking board game loading THIS LONG is obvious sign of shotty programming and testing.

You’re better off getting a stylized Monopoly board game instead.
Or Mario Party 10. I’m serious. I rather buy that crap than wait 5-10 for a fucking simple board game to load. This is bullshit.
I can confirm this is an actual issue with this game! I called Nintendo today to fix this problem. They had me reset the hardware by holding the power button and selecting restart. It fixed the issue and the game loads pretty quickly now (about 15 seconds).

honestly why do people buy video game versions of monopoly it just not the same playing it with friends and family in real life
Especially if doesn’t have online play to verse other players who might be more experienced.
the game does. The calculating and moving etc. This version has the dice feeling in the controller grips and it’s very portable. Faster to setup than the board and has many quick game options. Also various boards and fun animation. That’s some of the reasons we buy a digital monopoly. ;-)
Fortunately, this version does have online play. It also loads in seconds if you reboot the console after install, as previously stated.
Still not buying it.

Guys… it´s not loading times… it´s actually installation times….
Either way, it’s bullshit for a simple board game.
