Japanese gaming publication Famitsu is reporting that the console market is up 172.9% in 2017 and 103.8% in software. You’ll have no doubt seen our Media Creates sales posts which go up on a Wednesday showcasing just how well Nintendo is doing with the Switch. Talking of the Nintendo Switch, it has sold 3,407,158 units, PlayStation 4 has sold 1,935,247 units, and the Nintendo 3DS achieved sales of 1,827,131. Japanese Nintendo reports that nine out of the top ten best-selling retail games for the year are on Nintendo platforms. You can view those, below:

Looks still solid the 3DS. Obviously in 2017 it will be inverted, the Switch will have more months and much more hardware out there.
