Reports are coming in that Monster Hunter World on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One sold more in their first week in Germany than Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate on Nintendo 3DS did in its first year. Monster Hunter World sold 100k in its first week of sales whereas Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate on the Nintendo 3DS didn’t reach this milestone until 12 months on being on the market. The UK opening was estimated to be 3x as much and Spain was more than 2x.

And if it were on the Switch, it’d have sold more in the first day than several previous weapons combined.
That games barely runs on Xbox One. Like 18 fps and drops. I don’t think it would be a good fit for Switch.

No it’s not. Apart from the armour skills system, it’s very much like the older games. You should try it.
As someone who’s been playing since Tri and seen all the major changes… This game is in NO WAY like the older games. It’s monster hunter for casuals, with a terrible implementation of multiplayer and scaling. The beta was infinitely better.

A Monster Hunter game that’s aimed for new players,if it was on Switch I would have bought it for sure
It sold that much because this is the first time Monster Hunter is receiving full budget western support. Usually, Capcom does half baked localization and weak marketing for western region… At least now they know how viable the IP is outside of Japan.
Franchise fatigue is a thing; if they didn’t divide the attention of the Nintendo fanbase by releasing a different version of Monster Hunter each two weeks, they’d have gotten more sales out of 4U.
Of course World is selling better on other consoles where there isn’t any franchise fatigue.
This is typical Capcom, overdo it and then blame someone else.

Did I miss something but where is the Switch news?
Why is this an article on a Nintendo site? Because MHW sold more than Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, a Nintendo 3DS game, did in less time. Of course, the answer to this question is in the title. *shrug* Whatever.
Anyway, my question is which of those two systems sold more of MHW: PS4 or Xbox One? I guess it doesn’t really matter.
Still curious to know, though…
