Capcom Removes Download Banner From Mega Man 1 & 2 Nintendo Switch Box-Art

When Capcom initially revealed the Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 & 2 box-art you could clearly see a large white banner at the top of the sleeve stating that an internet download is required along with an SD Card. That has now been scrapped as the retail edition has done away with the unsightly white banner. Here’s an image of the old artwork along with the new sleeve.

  1. Hopefully they’re both on the cart now. The guy is covering up the white text next to the ESRB rating with the Walmart receipt so it’s hard to tell.

    1. Unfortunately no, this is cheap ass crapcom we’re talking about so you’ll still have to download the other collection.
You must remember this is the company who literally charged owners of Asura’s Wrath for the true ending of that game, so they aren’t going to have a change of heart and spend money on larger card memory.

    1. Well, the main point of the text on the front is so that people see it easily before they buy the game. It may not look very nice on there, but admittedly it would be even worse if people bought the game, not knowing that they need to download stuff in order to play it.
The ideal solution here probably would be to put a sticker on the front.

      1. Even with bugs and other problems, most games are, at the very least, playable with what’s provided on the cartridge. It’s very rare, even today, for a game to be literally unplayable without downloading any patches. This one, on the other hand, is literally unusable without downloading anything (well, at least one of the two games). They may be rare, but people with no easy access to the internet still exist, so if a game absolutely requires it to be playable, I still think it should be advertised in plain sight. Sure, the note doesn’t look very pretty on the box, but if that’s a problem, they should just fix it properly and put both games onto cartrdiges.

  2. This is Only lie, or trap! I wait for reviews and real detail search čase in mine hands. Only full physical game i buy, no less!!

  3. …mmmeh, I’m content with my Legacy Collections 1 & 2 on PS4 in their separate disc forms. As much as I would love to have Mega Man on the company platform it started on, I’ve grown used to playing them on PlayStation now. Good times still all around. Looking forward to 11 when it drops.

  4. Thank goodness. I admit it’s silly, but I really don’t like messy text messing up perfectly good looking box art

  5. If only this meant that they heard our cries, and they’ll be releasing physical collections on physical media from here forward… too much to ask, I know.

  6. His parents gave him a Benjamin and said “You can buy a game just as long as you do something about your funky feet”! Rockman and Socks the next MegaDuo? Poor Bass…
