Square Enix has confirmed today that Octopath Traveler on the Nintendo Switch won’t feature any purchasable downloadable content to extend the game. What you purchase on 13th July is what you get, which is good news for most people. Octopath Traveler producer Masashi Takahashi said “The product version is the finished product.”
Octopath Traveler Won’t Have Any DLC

DLC isn’t necessarily a bad thing when done right but I guess this is good news. They made a final product and they are leaving it that way. Really rare from a company these days
Vampyr isn’t going to have dlc either. I wish more devs went this route.
Well, the game is about 100 hours of play so I think DLC would just be a bit pointless unless it’s extremely well crafted.
Good. They put all their effort into making a complete game and that’s more than what most devs give us these days. Day 1 purchase
Cool beans. Get started on the next game. I wouldn’t mind something a little Chrono Trigger-like in 2D HD
Can’t say no to Chrono Trigger!
I can’t, But Square Enix seems more than capable.
More reason for me to buy day one, glad I already pre ordered it already. Feels like I’m back in the SNES days, it feels so good.
The game doesnt need dlc, it has so much content. Ty for putting EVERYTHING in it day one square
Nobody need dlcs for big games like skyrim. Everybody better like new game in serie. Stop releasing half complete games!!!
Bad DLC practices has gotten some people paranoid & thinking all DLC is evil & is stuff removed from the main game to be sold later as “DLC.” *shrug* That aside, was it really needed to point this out? I’m gonna assume someone asked.
Good news. I don’t mind DLC when it’s done right, but I can appreciate a game that doesn’t have DLC also.
And with a game like this that’s already 100 hours or so, it doesn’t really need any.
