Another game that did not appear at E3 2018 was Mario Kart Tour, which is slated for a release on mobile devices by March 2019. According to Reggie Fils-Aime, there is a reason for this. Reggie said to IGN that “we made the decision that there’s going to be another opportunity to shed more light on that app”, opting to do so when the game is “closer to its launch”. Reggie says that they are still intending for a launch in “this current fiscal year”. Here’s what Reggie said about the matter:
“Depending on the game, E3 could or could not be a place to shed light on mobile activity. In the case of Mario Kart Tour, we made the decision that there’s going to be another opportunity to shed more light on that app, especially shedding light when it’s closer to its launch, We continue to be on track to launch it in this current fiscal year for Nintendo.”
If they dare show this at E3, show it during Treehouse where some people don’t care. Don’t want a mobile game taking up time on a major direct like at E3.
They had plenty of time for E3. They can get away with showing it on E3 if it was ready. Haters can deal with it.
A 2 second trailer would be fine in the highlight reels of E3 Directs, I guess. Anything more for a mobile game is a waste of time, though, that could go to a more deserving video game.
The point of E3 is to show off games. For you it might be a waste, but not to everyone.
Honestly I forgot about this game
A heavy hitter like Nintendo has no reason to show off casual mobile games during one of the biggest gaming events in the planet. E3 is for the big guns, not side projects.
The second I read “mobile devices”, I roll my eyes and walk away. Why do people waste their time with mobile games?
I want this game to come out as soon as possible, not because i am excited for it but because I want Nintendo to focus on the development of MK9.
MK8 originally came out in 2014 btw.
The earliest there would be a MK9 would be the holiday season of 2020. There needs to be more DLC for MK8D.
