While Dragon Quest XI is due to arrive on the PlayStation 4 here in the west next month, we have heard next to nothing about the Nintendo Switch version. It seems as though it has become a closely guarded secret. Dragon Quest series creator Yuji Horii now says that Dragon Quest XI on the Nintendo Switch is “progressing smoothly” and he hinted that we could get the first look at the game during the Tokyo Game Show which takes place next month.
““I can’t really speak about it, but it is progressing smoothly.”
Horii also remarked, “I have a feeling we’ll have a variety of announcements around TGS, but just how much will we say…” hinting that there will be an announcement regarding the Switch version of Dragon Quest XI around Tokyo Game Show 2018, which runs from September 20 to 23.
Furthermore, Dragon Quest XI director Takeshi Uchikawa said, “I have a feeling we will be able to announce something soon.”
square nix now that octopath traveler sold well bring dq 11 on 3ds to the west
yes they have no reason not to…
That’s awesome, good news for sure. The future looks bright for Switch if you have the patience.
That’s the spirit!
Finally some good news about this game!
indeed a great news for Switch owners… if DQ XI is a great port… there will be more SE titles to comes, and Switch will continue to grow…
I should assume so, ever since the Unreal 4.2 update added/improved support for Switch development. Should make developing the Switch ver. go much more smoothly.
It will be conveniently announced several weeks after the PS4 has wrapped up launching Worldwide. Coincidence?
Yeaaah we might get it in 2020!!! sooner than expected!!!
How smooth are we talking here? Buttery smooth or baby skin smooth?
