It is already Wednesday and as such the latest Media Create software and hardware charts are with us from Japan. It is once again Super Smash Bros Ultimate which is by far the best-selling video game this week and it’s followed by the fun Super Mario Party also for the Nintendo Switch. Talking of the Nintendo Switch, it continues to be the dominant platform in Japan with a whopping 278K sales. Here’s the best-sellers this week:

Amusement isn’t something one considers when reshaping the gaming landscape. But this… does put a smile on my face.
It’s no surprise that the Switch will pass right by the PS4’s lifetime sales within the next year. I give it less than 6 months, though, if this rate continues. Pure home consoles aren’t the biggest seller in Japan.
