Japan: Here’s Famitsu’s Top 20 Games Of The Heisei Era

The full top twenty video games of the Heisei Era have now been published online via Ryokutya2089. These are the games as voted by 7,158 Japanese Famitsu readers. The Heisei Era is the period between 8th January 1989 – 1st May 2019. So, without further ado, here’s the top twenty titles voted by Famitsu readers:

  4. Final Fantasy VII
  5. Okami
  6. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
  7. Final Fantasy X
  8. Pokémon Red/Green/Blue/Yellow
  9. Dragon Quest V
  10. Xenogears
  11. Vainglory
  12. Suikoden II
  13. Mother 2 (Earthbound)
  14. Splatoon 2
  15. Tactics Ogre
  16. Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G (Monster Hunter Freedom Unite)

While we don’t have the number of votes for the full list, it is mentioned that Chrono Trigger’s #1 place happened thanks to the overwhelming support from fans in their 30s. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild placed #2 in overall votes, but was actually the top-voted title for readers in their 40s. Meanwhile, NieR: Automata mostly got its votes from readers in their teens and 20s, and was actually #1 most voted title for those age groups.
