The upcoming Pokemon Sword & Shield will be the first game in the long-running Pokemon franchise to introduce an autosave mechanic. For those of you a little worried about its inclusion you will be pleased to know it is something you can turn off. Here’s what Pokemon Sword & Shield director Shigeru Ohmori told Game Informer:
“It’s a new feature we’re implementing: full autosave functionality. Traditionally in Pokémon games, it’s an important thing to write your report to record your save, and that’s always been a staple, like, “Remember to save your game!” We do have an autosave feature this time, where you can just adventure and it’ll constantly save the game.”
Thanks to Snazzy Snake for the news tip!
So you CAN turn it off.
Thank goodness. So this game CAN be somewhat redeemed.
At least GameFreak isn’t cruel enough to locked you into starters/event/gift Pokemon with crappy stats or failed legendary captures.
Will be keeping it on except for one off Pokémon battles
This and the gyms are the only things I’m hyped for right now.
Phew… GameFreak still has some brains left after all.
Is Gamefreak planning on Pokemon Bank or something? Don’t tell me they didnt think of this while this game did years in R&D.
