Oof what happened to Ghost Recon?
Also, I didn’t think Luigi’s Mansion 3 was as enjoyable as the prior games sadly. It’s still a solid game though
It’s a bit depressing seeing less-than-perfect scores for Luigi’s Mansion 3. I only barely started playing, so I’m not sure what to think yet. I just wonder if the less-than-perfect scores is due to the multi-player aspect, or the main game. Because I don’t really care about the multi-player modes.
I mean. A 7 is still pretty good. Its 2 steps above average.
I haven’t played ScreamPark. But Scarescraper is pretty much the same as in Dark Moon. Solid af. Really fun and is probably the most stablr online I have seen on switch.
Yeah, I don’t know we people think 7 is like bad or just like… a minimum score for not being a bad game or something. 7 is a solid score, and 7 for a journalist doesn’t mean you can’t have a great time with the game.
No 7 is not good and no 5 is not average. That’s not how scores work. 5 means the game is broken and not worth your money unless you’re a hardcore fan and like bad games. 7 means the game is ok but nothing special, The average depends on what THE AVERAGE SCORE IS. It can be anything from 1 to 10. The average of all games I ever played is probably something like 8.5. So I’m definitely not gonna pick up LM3 for full price.
Well, I think it’s worth more than a 7.
I’ve been playing story mode and it’s sucking brilliant.
It’s a solid Nintendo game.
i don’t get it really. I’ve played 8 hours so far and its been a joy to play, the mechanics, animations, visuals and overall fun and sentiment that this game awakes is amazing. I don’t know if the score counts multiplayer, but this game deserves a 9 or a 10.
Meh.
Honestly, I enjoyed this game a ton. Sure, the multiplayer minigames weren’t great, but the story progression, animations, new moves, visuals, and most of everything were kinda nailed in the main game. I’d give it an 8.5.
I am of the opinion that the game deserves a 7. I think that is a fair assessment of the game.
7 is a good rating, and I think the game is good. I also think the game has a lot of charm, good visuals, and is fun to play.
But I don’t think the game does anything groundbreaking, if you look at it objectively. The soundtrack for the game is mediocre at best (an opinion I suppose. I feel like previous Luigi’s mansion games had better scores) and I think the combat being nothing more but spamming the a button to slam is rather shallow and boring. There only being a small variety of common enemies in the game is also a shame. They are all the same.
I also feel like the multiplayer in this game is not it’s strong point and is flawed. The two feel like nothing more then mario party mini games, while scarescraper gets repetitive fast and is gutted compared to Luigi’s mansion 3.
I feel like a lot of Nintendo games (and games in general) get a lot higher scores then what they actually deserve. Everyone is so used to games getting perfect scores, or even 9/10’s, that they assume everything should get it.
To me, a game getting 5/10 means “average game” and a score of a 10/10 means the game is flawless and a masterpiece.
If you find Luigi’s mansion 3 fun, and disagree with my assessment, then that is fine. Honestly this is all my opinion and it’s obviously the opinion of EDGE magazine.
I’m not calling the game a bad game.
I just find a 7/10 a fair assessment for the game.
I made some typos in my original reply. I meant “compared to Luigi’s mansion 2.”
Also to quickly add, I feel like the story is simple. That’s what almost every Nintendo game is though. I don’t find that a problem, it’s just nothing I’d praise.
Lastly, I wanted to add that the original Luigi’s mansion had its flaws too, but I do prefer the original game.
Remember, the same idiots gave Death Stranding perfect reviews.
I give it an 8.5 for the story mode only. I’m enjoying the game I have 7 elevator buttons now. I think the problem is Gooigi makes it kind of easy. It still has that humour in it.
If they have Destiny as their games of the decade, you know something is wrong…
Also yeah Luigi’s Mansion same score as neo cab? Nah they’re clearly not nintendo fans or are just not Luigi’s mansion people
Mario Odyssey and BotW set them bar really high for games scored at 9+ And this one does not come close to those masterpieces.
I’m halfway through the game and I cannot justify giving it 8/10 either since there are noticeable hiccups and the gameplay does not feel very polished such as Luigi’s sluggish turning left and right or up and down.
Some puzzles are intuitive and fun and some are try-all-your-weapons-and-see-which-one-works kinda puzzles that are not too exciting.
Maybe it’s because I just finished Zelda LA that I think I need a new piece of equipment for a new set of challenges in a new floor but seriously of the game continues without any additional upgrades it would be a shame and 7 might be a score that is just right.
Having a blast playing this. 7 is way to low
