Super Mario 3D All-Stars has been updated to version 1.0.1

Every now and then, Nintendo will release a day-one update for a new game that is about to launch. The update usually releases a few hours before midnight at launch day on the east coast of the US. For example, Super Mario 3D All-Stars has been updated to version 1.0.1 tonight. All that is mentioned in the patch notes is that Nintendo “fixed/adjusted the display in Super Mario Galaxy when playing in Co-Star mode” and “in order to let you play the game more comfortably, we have also fixed some issues”.

    1. While it would be technically possible, and doable considering the GC controller connector is a thing, I doubt very much that they will do it. However it would be a nice addition if they did.

    2. If you’re that much of a purist, not an insult by the way, I’d suggest just sticking to the original format for the game entirely. Emulation, no matter how sophisticated, is never perfect. If you’re very familiar with the original, the Switch version will never feel quite right regardless of controller.

  1. So glad this was released a few hours early. I don’t think Nintendo realized it was out mid day.

But wtf Nintendo, patch Mario 64 so it’s in wide screen. And really, couldn’t have add some HD textures for 64. Otherwise this game is pretty good for just being emulated.
