The existing library of more than 1,000 Nintendo 3DS games contains many critically acclaimed titles and can provide years of content to explore and enjoy.”
“We currently have no plans to end any existing online services for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems. Online play and Nintendo eShop will continue to be available and it will be possible to access and redownload all previously purchased content in the foreseeable future.”
In twenty years my original black 3DS shall skyrocket in price, then. Some future collector is bound to be on the lookout for a non I.D attached, ambassador program having, great condition, original 3DS, complete in box.
It’s a given. It’s safe to expect the 3DS to be active until at least 2023.
Nintendo 3DS was the best thing that ever happen to me. We have some fun times with this thing. It really bought back memories. I still kept mine and still play it.
Glad to know the eShop will stay online, at least for the next few years i guess. Surprisingly there is still people playing Mario Kart 7 and Monster Hunter 4 online, just checked a few days ago on my 3DS.
Oh that’s good. Nice job!
Oh cool, that’s awesome!
What about the Wii U?
My 3DS is literally my anytime portable Arcade Unit. 30 + installed from Gba/NES/SneS and even a few Sega Classic titles.
One amazing DS game I stupidly never finished was Contact. Fun game with an interesting battle mechanic.
But yah it’s such a well built handheld, I’ll have that thing forever…
I love my 3ds XL! But I wasn’t crazy about the whole downloadable game experience. I’ve gone back to cartridges with the Switch. But I’m glad they will keep the eshop stuff up in case something happens to people’s games..
