It’s that time of the month when The NPD Group releases their monthly report on the current state of sales in the video gaming industry. For a little over a year now, Nintendo has been enjoying a lot of success at the same time that Microsoft and Sony has focused on migrating to a new generation of consoles.
It is yet to be determined if this trend continues after Microsoft and Sony’s consoles release, but for now, Nintendo has yet another sales achievement that they can celebrate, thanks to the Nintendo Switch. According to NPD analyst Mat Piscatella, the Switch sold more hardware units in a fiscal year’s third quarter than any platform in the last 11 years. It is an achievement not seen since the Nintendo DS in 2009. Piscatella’s tweet about the matter is down below.
I didnt think this was possible before. But I now truly believe switch will outsell wii. If it releases a pro or version 2.0 it will go even further

Switch 2.0 won’t count as Switch, it will be Switch 2!
