Platformer Lucky’s Tale franchise surpasses 3 million players

Playful, the developers behind New Super Lucky’s Tale, is celebrating this morning as they have announced that the charming 3D and 2D platformer Super Lucky’s Tale has surpassed more than 3 million players across all versions of the game. This includes the original Super Lucky’s Tale, the revised New Super Lucky’s Tale and also the original Lucky’s Tale which was exclusive to the Oculus Rift.

“We’re celebrating a few awesome things today.

First, New Super Lucky’s Tale is now available on physical disc for Xbox One/Series X and PlayStation 4. (They had previously only been available digitally in the Americas region).

Second, the Lucky’s Tale franchise has surpassed more than 3 million players across New Super Lucky’s Tale(2019) and Super Lucky’s Tale (2017). And that number is on top of players of the original Lucky’s Tale (2016), our launch title for the Oculus Rift that was bundled with every unit sold.

There is a resurgence of 3D platformers right now and we’re humbled and grateful to be a part of that. We’ve heard from so Lucky players who’ve bonded with family by introducing them to the genre or reconnected to their own nostalgia for these games. We can’t wait to see where the genre goes next!”

  1. I really liked the game when I played it last year. One of the better non-mario 3d platformers recently, so happy it’s done well.
