Recently winning an award at The Game Awards and continuing to see huge global success every month since launch, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the gift that keeps on giving. And if Doug Bowser’s recent comments in an interview with Polygon are anything to go by, Nintendo will be continuing its support for the Nintendo Switch exclusive title for some time to come. An exact time frame is unknown, but the Nintendo president highlighted that Nintendo will “definitely see that continuing” when asked about updates for the title for next year.
Aside from updates, and touching on the success of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Doug Bowser had the following to say “I think the thing that is very unique and different about Animal Crossing: New Horizons, however, is also the [user-generated content], and people’s ability to really lean into user-generated content and make that available and to share that with their friends. And that doesn’t happen on any cadence. That’s an ongoing, constantly changing and evolving environment where people can visit each other’s islands and take advantage of that UGC, bring it to their islands and share it. So I think that’s another aspect that really is strengthening the engagement over time with Animal Crossing”.
So with strong and constant sales numbers, I think it’s fair to say that Nintendo will be channeling its efforts in to keeping this game fresh, and with the recent influx in replenishing special edition Switch stock, it’s a clear indicator that Nintendo wants to ride on the success for as long as possible into 2021.
a complete non article. just that in an interview someone at nintendo said something. no details about what the updates are be, just that there will be some.
thanks nintenmau5
“someone at nintendo” lmao, that’s the president of Nintendo of America. And it’s nice to know for anyone who didn’t purchase the game yet that the game will receive more support and new content.
What an ignorant comment
Uhh they already stated this before a couple of times
